Blue Vases After Skip 15x22
watercolor
I found this painting while returning my studio to order
when the update was finished. This was
painted about 1996 soon after a workshop with Skip Lawrence. He encouraged the emphasis of color contrast. So here, there is a dominance of blue with
variation of warm to color. Low-key
warms are placed next-to the cools. The fiddler
has found its way into a number of works.
I believe his teaching has noticeably influenced my choices. I still like this one. What do you think?
