Looks Like Rain

Looks Like Rain      16 x 20         acrylic , ink

This has a  blend of suggested subject of woods  and enough abstract foundation to make  the viewer not quite able to ‘figure it all out’.  I get some sense of rain. ….The leafs are real  ginkgo leaves  saved and dried last fall.

Abstract River March & Lake               acrylic                   12x12 each

The calm blues and greens are a refreshing contrast to many I have finished over the recent years. Pleasant. They make me think of spring waters. Shown individually below.  They are painted on 1” composite board, ready to hang at $75 each or the grouping for $140 plus tax and shipping

Marsh Trees and Marsh Birds

Marsh Trees    12x16 x ¾ Acrylic  Marsh Birds

What do you think of these Abstract Nature Paintings?

It took a while for these to develop. As with many paintings, in the middle of the struggle, I was not at all sure they would ever be ok. The final touch was to deepen the 'red' in each, which gave more life.

This pair of paintings is available for $95 plus Shipping and tax.

Earth Tree Sky

Earth Tree Sky       12x16 each              16x 36 all three

I wanted to move to a more recognizable abstract. Trees and nature are a heart-felt topic for me flowing out of a lifelong habit of woods-walking.

The work began with deep green, chosen because I do not frequently use it. Then again, colors selected with the idea of quad-complements, as explained in previous entry.

I chose medium to large size shapes - repeated with variations, attempting to have some flow from one to the next. Then I used any combination of colors to paint both positive and negative tree shapes. The Great Blue Herons completed the effort.

This abstract acrylic triptych is a new venture for me. The colors are more subdued than usual for me. I was not sure I like the results. However, it has grown on me and now am satisfied….seems peaceful.

What do you think?
